Data we process
Account and authentication
Email address, display name, and authentication data via Firebase Authentication (email/password and Sign in with Apple). Passwords are hashed by Firebase — we do not receive them in plain text.
Profile
Profile information you provide (e.g. name, postcode, and city) stored in Firestore under your user account. A public seller ID may be shown in the app when assigned.
Listings and images
Listing content, descriptions, prices, condition, images, and product data you upload. Sold listings may be anonymized on account deletion (see below).
Serial numbers
Device serial numbers are stored in private backend records linked to your listings. Sellers choose when to share a serial number with a buyer in the app. Serial numbers are not shown publicly in browse views.
Favourites
Saved listings linked to your account.
Messages
Conversations and messages between users. On account deletion, participant details are anonymized; history may remain for the other participant.
Notifications
Device push tokens (APNs) stored to deliver notifications for messages and search-agent matches (where active).
Saved search agents
Search criteria, postcode/distance data based on postcode centroids (not GPS), and match history. The matcher may be disabled in production depending on rollout.
Feedback and diagnostics
Optional feedback from Profile → Feedback (category, message, app version, language, etc.). Contact email only if you grant permission in the app.
Reporting
Reports about users or content may be stored privately for moderation.
Purposes and lawful bases
- App functionality — operating the marketplace, sign-in, listings, messages, favourites, and notifications (typically contract / legitimate interests).
- Security and abuse — fraud prevention, moderation, and account deletion (legitimate interests / legal obligation where applicable).
- Support — responding to enquiries at app@eeeo.dk (legitimate interests / contract).
Retention and deletion
Data is kept as long as necessary for the purposes above, unless longer retention is required by law.
When you delete your account in the app (Profile → Account and security → Delete account), a server-side deletion process deletes or anonymizes data according to the implemented contract. Deletion may be asynchronous; the profile may temporarily show “Deletion pending”.
Final retention periods for moderation reports and feedback after deletion are not yet legally finalized and must be confirmed by the controller/legal counsel.
Recipients and processors
Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging) processes data as a processor for MacTrade. Google processes data under its terms as a sub-processor.
We do not sell personal data. No advertising tracking or third-party analytics are implemented in the app per the Privacy Manifest (NSPrivacyTracking: false).
International transfers
Firebase/Google may process data globally. Google offers standard contractual clauses and other mechanisms per its documentation. We do not claim specific safeguards beyond those in the provider’s agreement terms.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability, and to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. Contact app@eeeo.dk. You can also delete your account in the app — see account deletion.
Complaints
You may complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet), Carl Jacobsens Vej 35, 2500 Valby, datatilsynet.dk.
Children
MacTrade is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. App Store age rating follows Apple’s questionnaire (user-generated content).
Changes
We may update this page when the app or law changes. Material changes will be communicated via the app or this page.
